I provide psychotherapy and treatment to individual adults. My therapeutic orientation is cognitive behavioral therapy and includes focusing on each your strengths, your capacity for growth and self fulfillment. I incorporate breathing and relaxation methods, biofeedback techniques, development of healthy coping skills, healthy communication skills, assigned reading and self compassion.
My approach draws from cognitive behavioral therapy and the 12 step model, while also seeing the bigger approach to healing. I subscribe to the beliefs that everything happens for a reason and at times, trauma and hurts, can be our biggest spiritual lesson. This is not meant to victimize anyone, but have each person take more compassion for themselves with the knowledge of asking why certain things have happened in their life. It is about understanding, on a very deep level, why we do what we do and why we had to live through what we did. All of this is taken on with the lens of self compassion with that accountability to heal.
I subscribe to the philology of it takes a village to “raise” and help each person heal.
In order to help each adult become more healthy in their lives I work with different providers outside the therapy profession. I work out of a holistic approach and frequently collaborate with five element acupuncturists, naturopathic doctors, Qi Gong teachers, and a medical astrologer. The philosophy of our consult group is based off the ideas Dr Klinghart, who’s five levels of healing that takes into account physical, emotional, mental, intuitive and spiritual bodies of healing.This collection of colleagues all work together in order for client to move beyond feeling stuck in their lives.
My goal is to help you moving through the problems and limited thinking that is short changing your life, develop new coping skills and gain a new perceptive on life. I am here to help you move out of "survival" and into truly living your life. I hope to help you build a deeper and kinder connection to yourself so that you may emerge whole; and live a balanced and full life. Together we can work together to help you establish healthy standards in yourself and your relationships, live more from the heart, to be intuitive with your needs and actions. More specifically we can work together to help you develop heart centered relaxation techniques, assertive communication skills, compassionate self talk, and healthy behaviors.
